The Block Law Firm was founded by Ellen F. Block, Esq who has 17 years of legal experience in employment law and civil litigation. Ms. Block's father was a 30-year employee of U.S. Steel, headquartered in Pittsburgh, and she grew up on the stories of big business, management, unions, workers and the workplace. There were many spirited debates in her family about the virtues and evils of management vs. the worker. The workplace has evolved into a much different place now. Gone are the days of a worker's career longevity with one employer and employer loyalty as a reward for a job well done. But the basic tenets of a successful business have not changed: good customer service by workers who are appreciated and provided with the rights afforded them by law. This is the commitment of The Block Law Firm, dedicated to the pursuit of justice in the workplace.

ELLEN F. BLOCK, ESQ. – Founder of The Block Law Firm

Ellen F. Block has more that 20 years of successful legal and business leadership experience and more than 10 years of executive coaching experience. She has developed and facilitated executive coaching programs for the Florida Bar, the Department of Labor, and the Workforce Development Centers.

Ms. Block attained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo and did her undergraduate work at Miami University, Oxford Ohio. She opened her own law practice in Toledo where she enjoyed a successful practice prior to moving to Florida in 1996. She then joined the prestigious law firm of Searcy, Denney, Scarola, Barnhart & Shipley where her practice was focused on commercial litigation at the state and federal level.

Ms. Block is a member of the Ohio and Florida Bar, the Palm Beach County Bar, the Quality of Life and Career Management committees of both the Florida and Palm Beach County Bars, the Association of Corporate Counsel, Executive Women of Palm Beach, and a certified executive coach. Today she spends most of her time zealously defending the rights of employees in the workplace.
